Sermons by Jonathan le Tocq
Jonathan le Tocq was born in Guernsey and brought up speaking Guernsey Norman French as his first language. He first learnt English at school before going on to study in London and Paris. He has a keen interest in the Arts, Culture and Humanities and has qualifications in French, Music, Philosophy and Theology. Coming from a Methodist family he initially pursued ministry within that denomination, but a significant encounter with the Holy Spirit as a student found him leading prayer groups made up of every shade from Catholic to Pentecostal. After marrying Judith they lived and worked for a short time in London before returning to Guernsey where he was appointed Senior Pastor of CHURCH on the ROCK (a Newfrontiers Church he helped to found) in 1989. He helped initiate New Wine in Guernsey and regularly leads worship and speaks at NW events both there and in Jersey. Jon is also involved in relief and educational agencies working in Southern and West Africa, Central America and Eastern Europe. His church in Guernsey has sent people to help begin new churches around the world and he currently helps oversee Newfrontiers churches in France and Romania. Jon has a passion for churches to move deeper into worship & the prophetic. In 2000 as the church grew the Lord led him into politics; during two terms as a Member of Guernsey’s parliament Jonathan served the Overseas Aid Committee as President, and as Treasury & Resources as Deputy Minister. After a short break from these responsibilities he is now the Deputy First Minister in the Guernsey Parliament.
